Calgary cannot claim to be
the most beautiful city in the world
but looking out from my high-rise office window
with the sunrise illuminating the city,
the horizon shows the stark outlines
of the newly-snowed-upon Rockies.
- some mornings, we are treated to
an array of pinks and golds,
and all references to concrete can be forgiven.
Calgary sure does have a stunning backdrop!
Happy Scenic Sunday.
You're right, it does have a stunning view and as a gateway to the Rockies it has a wonderful location.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if the kite I photographed was a juvenile; it was a cold day so he was fluffed up. He seems to be solitary and there is a pair that roosts in the same area so he may be last year’s offspring.
What a fantastic viewpoint you have. Those mountains are breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking "Wow, Calgary can be gorgeous!" when I looked at the first three pictures, then the last one made me laugh.

Thank you for your comments folks. Yes - I love my window and I am very lucky to look out on this lot - puts you right off your work, mind you!
ReplyDeleteI miss that backdrop. I hope to make is back there someday soon.
