SkyWatch Friday - Distracted

Like many other jurisdictions, Alberta has recently introduced a distracted driving law.  It is primarily aimed at people using mobile phones while they are driving, but the detail includes a few other examples too, like programming your GPS or trying to text.

But what about the sun-rises out here?
They can be pretty damn distracting too.
Thank goodness no-one can legislate against these.
And as for the person who took the photographs?
Not guilty m'lud.
Four days.  Four distractions.

  1. Gorgeous skies.
I'm still seeing people talking on their cell phones, one hand up to the ear, the other on the wheel, and on Highway 1 in traffic, near Calgary.

  2. Fantastic sunset and what an incredible way to end a day!! I understand the need for laws like these, but they obviously don't understand the need of photographers!!! I'm kidding, but how do you pass up something like this???? Hope you have a great weekend and don't get caught taking more gorgeous photos!!

  4. So true and I am guilty. Your skies are looking very distracting there. Just lovely really! Happy skywatching!

  5. I've snapped a few from the driver's seat myself, but I'm not sure I recommend it!

  8. Beautiful sunsets - just stunning.
There's a law in UK against drivers using hand-held phones - it's been in place for several years and yet I see drivers breaking the law every day.

  12. Hi Frostbite & Sunburn,
Even if one tried, I think Nature would just ignore the restriction and go on giving wonderful Sky moments, and simply expect Drivers to respond responsibly.
But oh it is so true... Sky moments can truly distract when doing something extra astonishingly beautiful.... the only way is to stop! Hopeless on a Highway though, unless empty.
Glad you found a way to share those beautiful Sunset moments and remain intact.
